I'm also a big time film director in Los Angeles, California. I know what you're thinking, "David, you live in Hollywood, how do you manage to remain the humble, salt of the earth guy you always were?" Growing up in suburbs of Chicago, I learned important values that have never left me.

Common courtesy. When telling someone to shut up, I always start with a please and end with a thank you. Please shut the fuck up. Thank You.

I'm also quite thrifty. For example, It makes more sense to buy three Porsches at once than to buy just one at a time. Think about it.

And finally, as a collaborator I take great joy in experiencing everyone's own unique way of looking at the world. But... if people would just stick to the script and save their "ideas" for their bimonthly writing group, it would make things a whole lot easier for all of us.
